Sue Carpenter

Sue Carpenter is a member of Reprieve's Board of Trustees

As well as being a trustee, Sue works for a Belgian NGO specialising in international human rights law which focuses on ending impunity and the representation of indigenous groups in Latin America.

She has undergraduate and postgraduate law degrees from University College London and is a member of the Bar of UK and New York where she worked from 1986 as US general counsel to the Man Group, an international trading company.

Her work often took her to Latin America where she became increasingly concerned with the human rights issues in the region. She returned to the UK in 1995 and has worked in human rights ever since.
