Events: Reception to celebrate Ryan
Matthews' exoneration
In October 2004, Reprieve welcomed Ryan Matthews to London with an event at the House of Commons, hosted by Peter Bottomley MP. Over 50 Reprieve supporters attended, and £6,500 was raised towards the newly expanded Fellowship Programme.
Ryan and his mother spent a week in giving media interviews, doing public speaking engagements, and visiting the London Eye and Madame Tussauds. Ryan also visited the pen friend with whom he had corresponded while on death row.
