Events: Exonerees visit London
|
| In October 2004, Reprieve and Amicus co-hosted a series of talks by three former US death row prisoners, all of whom had been exonerated.
Ray Krone spent ten years on death row and became the 100th person on death row to be exonerated when DNA proved his innocence in April 2002.
William Nieves spent six years on death row, before he was exonerated in October 2000.
Nick Yarris spent nearly 22 years of his life on death row and was the first death row prisoner in the USA to request DNA testing to prove his innocence. He was finally released in September 2003.
All three men gave a compelling account of their experiences. Law firms Baker and Mackenzie and Clifford Chance kindly hosted the talks.
