Mark Arnold

Mark Arnold is a British national awaiting his appeal in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

He was arrested on 25 August 2008, following the disappearance of his ex-girlfriend, Kerry Winter, on 20 August. Whilst police are yet to find a body, Mark has been convicted of her premeditated murder. He is currently waiting for his first appeal hearing to take place.

Unlike trials in the UK or USA, the trial in Dubai is conducted one hearing at a time, with the hearings separated by as much as a month. Mark has already spent almost two years in jail. He has appealed against the conviction. Reprieve has serious concerns about the manner in which both the investigation and trial have been conducted. We are currently waiting to receive a full copy of the court judgment so we can ascertain how best to continue to assist Mr Arnold.
