The Big Give 2011

on 06 December 2011

Donate OnlineThe Big Give Christmas Challenge is providing a fantastic opportunity for you to help us continue Reprieve's vital work in 2012 and beyond.

From 10am on Monday 5th December, donations to Reprieve are being matched by the Big Give. The 'challenge' is that there are limited funds available for matching, so please get in quick to ensure that your donation will be doubled. Please note that only donations made via the Big Give website from 10am on Monday 5th December will be matched.

False starts and technical difficulties

The Big Give Christmas Challenge began on Monday 5th December at 10am and, due to the number of people trying to make donations, many people experienced difficulties on The Big Give website – please accept our apologies for this.

The Big Give website seems to be working now, but it may still be a bit slow when experiencing high volumes of traffic. We can only ask that you bear with us and please keep in mind how important your support is to Reprieve.

Thankfully some people did manage to get through on Monday before the site crashed and many more donated on Tuesday before the matched fund available for the day ran out.

So far we have received an amazing £18,260, including matching and Gift Aid - thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to this!

The Big Give continues – matched funding is still available

Each day more funds become available to double your donations, but they run out rapidly (usually by 11am), so please get in quick to ensure your donation is matched.

The Big Give website will tell you when the daily limit has been reached. If you receive this message, please return the next day at 10am to make your donation.

Again, please accept our apologies for all the confusion and difficulties so far, and thanks so much for bearing with us through it all! As a supporter, you will know what an amazing opportunity The Big Give is for us, and what a huge difference your matched donations will make to our clients around the world.

How your donation helps

£10 pays to obtain medical records for a prisoner we are assisting. You donate just £5.

£50 pays for a medical examination of a prisoner exonerated and released from death row. You donate  just £25.

£200 pays for a two day investigation trip within the UK for a US death penalty case. You donate just £100.

These are examples of what your donation could buy. We promise to use your gift to support our work wherever the need is greatest.
