Manuel Valle's letter to Archbishop Wenski

Five days after Manuel Valle’s execution, a letter addressed to Miami Archbishop Thomas Wenski arrived at his office. Manuel had already been executed by lethal injection on 28 Sept 2011.

Sept. 23, 2011

Dear Archbishop Wenski,

I sincerely hope this letter finds you enjoying the very best of health, as well as God’s good graces. I am well, at peace, and prepared for whatever God’s will has in store for me within the next week.

The love and support of my family, as well as that of many friends and kind individuals whom I have never had the pleasure to meet have been a true blessing.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and thoughtfulness throughout this difficult ordeal. And I would like to thank you on behalf of my family as well. If we had many more caring and compassionate individuals such as yourself in thisworld we would all be much better off. And although your thoughtfulness and attempts to save my life may end up falling short of their intended purpose, they should encourage many others to take notice and hopefully become more involved in the future. If that occurs, I will feel that my death will not be in vain. Either way I remain eternally grateful to you.

Brother Dale Recinella and Bishop Snyder have been absolutely wonderful guides over the last 13-14 years now and I can honestly tell you that their spiritual guidance have helped me tremendously throughout all the years.

Inner peace resides within my heart and soul. And I am more than prepared for the afterlife. To see my loved ones who have passed before me. And then await the arrival of those I must leave behind at this time. For there is no doubt in my mind that we will eventually be reunited again. My only wish is that their grief be short lived, and theyare able to return to a normal, enjoyable life in the not too distant future. These last couple of months may have been precious and enjoyable for all of us, but I know that it had to be rather stressful forthem and for that I am truly sorry.Once again, I want to thank you for everything you have done for me.With Love and Respect,
