Spare a thought for Linda Carty this Mothers day

 It has been over eight years since Linda Carty has embraced her mother or daughter.

Another Mothers Day behind the bars of Mount View prison must be utterly heartbreaking for Linda. Especially as she has never has the opportunity to see her grandchildren, as they are barred from visiting her on death row.

Mother’s Day is a time for families to come together, but for Linda it is just another day waiting for the opportunity to have a fair trial.

Linda has always appeared emotionally strong in spite of what she has been through. However, when interviewed recently about her looming execution date, she broke into tears and said, ‘If I have to die I pray that my family, especially my Mum and my Daughter will not look and not feel ashamed of their daughter because she was guilty but realise that the state of Texas failed me. From day one I was given an Attorney who never bothered to find out the facts or prove my innocence.’
