Death's Waiting Room launch - Live

By Reprieve volunteer on 11 August 2010

Death’s Waiting Room, our life size death row cell in St Martin-in-the-fields Church, Trafalgar Square, launches today at 1pm. Watch it live HERE.

We’re really pleased to be able to bring this unique event to all those not able to make it to Trafalgar Square today (as it’s our first time live streaming though, please bear with us through any inevitable technical hitches)! Tune in by following the link above at 1pm today to watch the launch, which will include:

Linda Carty’s Reprieve lawyer Sophie Walker speaking about Linda’s case
The actor Anna Chancellor and writer Margaret Busby OBE will read a short message from Linda to London
Reverend George Pitcher will speak about Linda’s faith and her impending execution
Singer Aruba Red will perform live from the cell

This extraordinary installation is going to be at St Martin-in-the-Fields from today until Sunday 5th September, and will allow the public to experience for themselves a cell similar to the one in which Linda Carty has spent 23 hours every day for the past 8 years. We welcome people to come and visit the cell at any time between 9am and 6pm Monday to Saturday, talk to Reprieve staff and show their support for Linda.

We will also be streaming parts of the event over the next few weeks, so we will keep you up to date on our programme of live web casts. We'd love to know what you think so do get in touch by emailing matthew.leidecker@reprieve.org.uk.

We’re all over the web
