Nabil Hadjarab rêvait de revenir d’Algérie en France: Le pays dans lequel il avait passé les années les plus heureuses de son enfance, et qu’il avait du quitter pour des raisons familiales, à l’âge de neuf ans. Mais son rêve s’est terminé en cauchemar : Il est en fait incarcéré à Guantánamo depuis 2002. Victime d’une erreur d’identification, Nabil a été lavé de tout soupçon par l’administration Bush depuis 2007. En vérité, il n’avait jamais même été formellement inculpé d’aucune charge. Cela fait maintenant trois ans que Nabil Hadjarab espère être réinséré en France : Si Nabil est Algérien du fait de sa naissance, la plupart des membres de sa famille proche vivent en France et ont la nationalité française. Jusqu'à aujourd’hui, Le Gouvernement est pourtant resté silencieux devant les requêtes de sa famille et celles de ses avocats. Son oncle Ahmed, qui est français, lance aujourd’hui un appel au Gouvernement pour qu’il accepte d’accueillir Nabil en France. Dans une plaidoirie poignante il demande de « l’humanité aux Etats Unis et de la gratitude à la France » en hommage aux services rendus par Saïd, le père de Nabil, à la France : Saïd faisait partie de la garde qui accompagnait le Général de Gaulle en Algérie. Il s’est également battu contre ses propres frères algériens durant la guerre d’Algérie, pour défendre le drapeau bleu, blanc, rouge, du pays qu’il considérait comme le sien.
