Watch: Please President Obama - help give prisoners the same rights as pets

Clarence Carter is due to be executed today in Ohio using a procedure that is clinically untested and does not comply with the strict regulations governing the euthanasia of pets.

Carter, 49, will be killed with a massive dose of pentobarbital, which in the past has been more commonly used in putting down animals.

Because the procedure is clinically untested, each execution amounts to an experiment on a human being.
