As Human Rights Producer, Andrew works with Al-Jazeera’s Public Liberties and Human Rights desk in Doha, promoting coverage of Guantánamo Bay and the global rendition  system.

Andrew was previously a journalist for the Beirut Daily Star in Lebanon and has written and reported two documentary films for Canadian television.

After a degree in English Literature from Kings College London and a post graduate diploma in Newspaper Journalism from City University, Andrew worked as a foreign correspondent in the Balkans and the Middle East for British and American newspapers.

His first film, Boot Camp Nation, followed reluctant Israeli conscripts during the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah, and was named Best Film at the 2007 FICFA film festival.  His second, State of Mind, charted the months leading up to Kosovo’s declaration of independence.

Andrew won the 2008 Sunday Times Tom Walker Award for young foreign correspondents.
