Mohammed el Gharani says thank you to the staff at Reprieve and all the people that have supported him during his time imprisoned in Guantanamo. Mohammed is finally free and with his family in Chad.

In March, Reprieve asked for supporters to send books to Mohammed el Gharani. Seized when he was only 14, Mohammed missed out on an education - but he loves reading, particularly history, and was keen to read ahead of his release

We had a truly amazing response. The entire floor of one of our rooms at Reprieve was piled high with books, with many touching messages attached. See a picture of Mohammed's attorney Cori Crider packing the books here.

Reprieve shipped the enormous boxes to Guantanamo where they were blocked and held by the Joint Task Force who run the prison.

When Mohammed was released we sent the books to Chad with him, where he can now enjoy them. Reprieve thanks supporters for sending such a strong message of support to Mohammed at an extremely difficult time.
