Volunteer researchers needed for Renditions Database
August 2008
Reprieve is building a Renditions Database to more effectively store, analyse and report on research on secret prisons, ghost prisoners and renditions. The Database will be a key tool in investigating illegal activity in the ‘war on terror’ and will aid in the representation of prisoners denied justice.
Reprieve seeks bright, technologically capable, and politically aware volunteers to aid in this process. Reprieve is building a team of volunteer researchers / data inputters for a 6 week period from August 18th. There may be a lunch expense that can be made available to volunteers, which will be confirmed on commencement of your placement.
The work will give you a great insight into the US government’s programme of kidnap and illegal transfer of terrorist suspects without legal procedure to third countries for interrogation, torture and indefinite secret imprisonment and you will play an important part in challenging these practices.
If you would like to join the team please send your CV and cover letter to Jane Pickering at jane@reprieve.org.uk Please title your email: ‘Database Volunteer Project’
